The hills of the north of the city and the stream of Altet

Distance: 9,5 km.

Accumulated difference in level: 75 m.

Circular route with start and finish in the city of Tàrrega, which passes through the Altet stream. It connects the main hills near the city, such as the Morlans hill and the Mor hill.

The first section of the route, between Tàrrega and Altet, follows the GR-3 route. Part of the route passes through the space of the Natura 2000 Network Plans de Sió.

Areas and places of natural interest

Tossal de Morlans: elongated hill with olive groves on the north side.

Tossal del Mor: small circular and very stony base.

Canyissar del reguer d’Altet: is the longest reedbed in the term.

Tamariu d’Altet: exceptionally sized tamarisk, which reaches a height of 8 m. It has two main trunks arranged in a V-shape.

Altet: church of Sant Pere, medieval remains of the Castell de l’Ofegat.

Les Obagues

Tossal de l’Ofegat: circular base hill bordering the Urgell composting plant and the landfill. The historical remains of the Ofegat castle as well as the ruins of the Masia del Tano located at the foot of the hill should be highlighted as a historical point.

Plans de l’Ofegat: dry land with a significant proportion of almond and olive trees.
