The ice pit and tannery

The ice well in Tàrrega

Ice or ice wells were underground constructions that were used to store ice. They were circular in plan, with the walls made of stone and the roof formed by a vault or pseudovolt of half sphere. They were in full operation between the 16th and 18th centuries and were common in many places. In the 19th century, they fell into disuse due to the emergence of ice factories.

The tannery of Molí del Codina

During the excavations carried out between 1997-1998 and 2004-2005 on the site known as Molí del Codina, the remains of an old tannery that was in operation during the 15th, 16th and 1st centuries appeared. mid-seventeenth century.
