Iberian site of the Estinclells
The Iberian settlement of Estinclells is located in the region of Urgell, about five kilometers from Verdú.
The settlement occupies an almost flat surface. It was discovered at the beginning of the twentieth century, but it was not until 2002 that the first archeological intervention was performed to consolidate and restore it. This deposit allows us to know more the implantation in the territory of the ilerget town, next to the Vilars of Arbeca and the Mill of the Espígol de Tornabous, with a single-phase settlement, in the 13th century before n.e.
The town planning of the village, with elements such as the raft, the walls and defenses, the ceramic tableware, … allows us to better understand the social, political and economic organization of the inhabitants of the village, and in short of the world as a whole.
