Landscape and natural environment

The Torre del Codina is located to the south of the old town of El Talladell, 4 km from the town – currently the municipality of Tàrrega -, in an area bordering La Segarra and in a coastal area. The town is known as La Putxa, and is located near the path of the Garrigues that leads to Granyena de Segarra.

Located at 480 meters above sea level, the Torre del Codina is located in a privileged geographical location of ornithological, environmental and landscape value.

From the house you can see spectacular views of the surroundings. To the north, the Pyrenees, from Port del Comte to the Huesca Pyrenees; to the west, the extensive plain of Urgell, to the south, the Tallat mountain range and to the east, the Segarra plateaus.

The Torre is located within theGranyena de Segarra Protected Natural Area of the Natura 2000 Network. In its surroundings we can find a great diversity of fauna and flora typical of the steppe areas.

Among the birds protected by the directive of the European Union, we can find the Eagle Marcenca, the Eagle Calçada, the Arpella, the Esparver cendrós, the Sisó, the Torlit, the Duke, the Enganyapastors, the Gaig Blau , the Calandria, the Terrerola vulgar, the Cogullada fosca, the Cotoliu or small cogullada, the Trobat or titina, the Tallareta cuallarga, and the Águila Cuabarrada.
